In a typical school year all freshman, sophomore and junior students participate in PSAT 9 or PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) testing during the school day at Mentor High School. For the 2020-2121 school year students who wish to test MUST register to test on Wednesday, October 14. Registered freshmen will take the PSAT 9 exam while registered sophomore and junior students will take the PSAT/NMSQT. Testing will start promptly at 8:00 am at Mentor High School. Testing should conclude between 11:30-12:00. Once registered students’ testing locations will be visible on their Infinite Campus class schedules prior to testing.
This year Mentor High School will be offering two additional tests for students on Wednesday, October 14.

Senior students will have the opportunity to register to take the SAT without essay. There is a fee ($52) to take this test that must be paid prior to October 12. The fee will be added to your students’ Infinite Campus account after registration.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors can choose to register for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) in place of taking the PSAT on October 14. This test is free to students.
Any student who chooses to take the PSAT, SAT or ASVAB will be exempted from their Mentor High School classes on October 14. College Credit Plus students who wish to take the PSAT, SAT or ASVAB should make their own arrangements with their CCP teacher by October 1.
