Mentor Schools - CLOSED - Wednesday, January 17

Good evening. This is a message from Mentor Public Schools. The district will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 due to the extremely cold wind chill values in the forecast for early morning hours when our students would be at bus stops or walking to school.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Chill Advisory that includes Mentor and is in effect from 10 p.m. this evening through noon Wednesday. The advisory states wind chills as low as 15 below zero are possible.

Please know, this day will be counted as a calamity day and no assignments will be given. Thank you.

Video: Feel the Excitement of our Kindness Rally with all 4th & 5th Grade Students!

The Kindness Rally is a student-led event designed to excite and inspire students to make a difference in their schools. We work hard to build a culture of kindness and compassion in all of our schools. Giving our younger students an opportunity to learn about leadership and promoting positivity from our older students is always a powerful tool. Kudos to our high school students and all the staff members for the hard work they put into this very meaningful event. Our kindness rallies are important to our bullying-prevention efforts and our goal to create a safe environment where students can learn and grow.

Homecoming will be September 30, 2023 and the theme is Enchanted Forest.

We still need volunteers to help decorate on Friday (9/29) and at the dance (9/30)!! Check out the sign up if you are able to help. You must have a current background check on file with the district. Please complete the background check prior to signing up.

To purchase your homecoming ticket online, follow the instructions below. In person sales will take place on September 27th, 28th & 29th before school and during all lunch mods.

1.) Visit - 2023 Homecoming Dance
2.) At the bottom of the page click "Have a Passcode?"
3.) Enter your passcode (student ID number)
4.) After submitting, the ticket level will appear
5.) Add 1 ticket to the cart and checkout
6.) Input your information and submit order

One ticket per transaction.
*Any tickets needed for a guest who does NOT attend MHS will need to be bought in person (Sept 27,28,29) with a completed guest form. Guest must be a high school student.

Cardinal Go!

We are excited to share that Mentor Public Schools was recently awarded a grant that will fully fund a two year pilot of a new student transit benefit program with Laketran. Cardinal GO is an innovative partnership that will allow Mentor High School students, grades 9-12, (with parent/guardian permission) to ride Laketran’s Local Route 1-9 free of charge wherever they are traveling – be it to campus, internships, activities, local resources, or after school jobs.


Our new partnership with Laketran will provide an additional transportation opportunity for high school students to increase access to real world learning opportunities and community resources in northeast Ohio.
